Hey, I’m Megan!
I'm a writer, aspiring author, and advocate living with Friedreich's ataxia. Through honest storytelling, I write about disability, resilience, and finding peace in the unexpected. My hope is that every story helps readers feel seen, deepens understanding, and reminds us that even when life doesn't unfold as we planned, beauty and purpose can still be found.
THE WEIGHT OF GRAVITY
About my memoir:
My debut memoir, The Weight of Gravity, explores what it means to grow up with Friedreich’s ataxia—a progressive, genetic disease that slowly changes the way you move through the world. From a childhood spent dancing to navigating college in a wheelchair, the book is a story about disability, independence, friendship, family, and learning to build a meaningful life when the future doesn't look the way you imagined.
Advocacy:
Living with a rare disease has made me passionate about making disability more visible and accessibility more than an afterthought. As a FARA ambassador, I share my experiences with Friedreich’s ataxia and advocate for greater awareness, inclusion, and research toward better treatments—and, ultimately, a cure.
